Blog: Week 4- Verisimilitude vs. Stylized graphics
In the many games we play  there are 2 different styles of graphics realistic graphics and stylised graphics and realistic graphics. Stylised graphics give a colourful and bright atmosphere, while realistic games on the other hand give the player a dramatic and intense atmosphere usually full of action. Different people have different tastes of games and also graphics some prefer a stylised cartoonish game play like World of Warcraft while others prefer a more realistic triple A style graphics like the Call of Duty series. Therefore what are the differences between these two of course they are major differences of look and appeal that is has on a game and what it does to the player, playing the game. Stylised graphics is usually a very colourful environment and usually very flashy, games that have stylised graphics doesn't really need much resources to run  or need a high end computer to enjoy but some players do not enjoy games that have stylised graphics. Games that strive to have full on realistic while having beautiful graphics and having a intense, dramatic and action packed game play need a lot of resources to run and create usually the player has to purchase the most up to date computer technology and usually games that strive to be too realistic usually makes it harder to immerse the player into the actual game and game play mechanics. There are games that mix both elements like Planetside 2, but in reality the option and taste of games and graphics are up to the preference of the individual player.                                           Image result for call of dutyImage result for maplestory

It makes the player become immersed into the game play 3D games usually has many game mechanics for the player to experiment with an example of this is The Elder Scroll series. 2D games mostly Indie games fit this category are for pure fun reasons there is usually little exploration involved but there are still many hidden rooms for the players to find the easter eggs hidden by the developers. 3D games are for players that are adventurous and that want a big world to travel across and explore. 2D games are for those players that are straightforward or want quick to play fun.
