1991: Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog is a top hit game franchise started by triple A game company SEGA based in Japan. The creation of Sonic the Hedgehog started in 1991 he starred in his first game called by his name Sonic the Hedgehog which was played on the Sega Genesis system which was Sega’s own playing system. The Sonic series then became popular as a fast paced 2D platformer or a fast paced running element starring the famous Sonic the Hedgehog he became known as a speedy character. Since 1991 Sonic has starred in plenty of games, Sonic the Hedgehog became its own franchise title there was 3 Sonic the Hedgehog games from 1991 to 1996 throughout the 2000s every game that starred Sonic has his name in front the title example is Sonic Adventure for the GBA system. He also appeared in a crossover w Mario in a Olympic style game with different events similar to that of the Olympic Games consisting of famous and iconic characters of both the Super Mario series and Sonic series. Recent Sonic games have been made for mobile systems and new gen handheld consoles like the new 3DS console.
1992 Mortal Kombat
Mortal Kombat is a  fantasy fighting series created by Ed Boon and John Tobais that involes two characters chosen for intense combat that is controlled by 2 players. The game has something called Fatalities where when performed involes a gory ending of humiliation for the losing player, there are many variants of the Fatality like for example Babality. Mortal Kombat has 9 games in its series for different consoles mostly Sony and some Nintendo.



1987 Legend of Zelda

Legend of Zelda is a RPG series created by triple A company Nintendo in 1987. The Legend of Zelda series was meant to be for adults as the game has plenty of adult humor throughout the game but it soon became poplar with the younger populace due to its adventure and many RPG elements. The game starrs the character Link recusing the damsel in ditress Zelda from villian Ganondorf.
